Abstract
Sea transportation is a useful and beneficial transportation it is effective and efficient because of its cheapness and safety and the capability to carry more than land or air transportation systems. Ship, which is sea means of tranportation, is a. vital means of connection for archipelago countries such as Indonesia. There fore various activities of life worked ont can't be separated from sea connection role as one of supporting factor in economic, social, politic and culture or security sector. . In doing so, ships demand service from qualified labours who have professional skill with specified certificate stipulated by either national or international regulation in the frame work to meet safety requirement. Services for ships by sailors or cabin crew meeting the requirement should be balanced by law protection for cabin crew including work safety, prosperity and harmonic life between rights and obligation considering that cabin crew were working continously at cabin during the period of time determined by sea work treaty which differ from other treaty. This research was worked out to obtain description about implementation of law protection for cabin crew at sea work treaty at shipping company. The population of this research are cabin crew who work at ships of the shipping company either Nusantara or Samudra shipping. The sample taken are 100 cabin crew by using sampling purposive non random technique. Data are collected by interview method, observation and analyzed by quantitative method by percentage descriptive formulation. Based on the research result it can be concluded that the enteri analysis shows that. 43,08 % of cabin crew stated that implementation of law protection to cabin crew at PKI., is generally proper though there is some article which have less attention from shipping entrepreneur especially, average salary standard of Indonesian cabin crew that lower than of other developing countries. 26,64 % of cabin crew stated that law protection to cabin crew at PKL is quite suitable which means that most of the article at PEI, is accomplished according to the treaty. 31,28 % of cabin crew stated that implementation of PKL at shipping company was not proper especially in the terms of welfare, health or accident happened to the sailor which was not suited to the treaty as the articles at PM., was not clear and detail. For example, the salary and other income sometimes got deviated.
