Abstract
The purposes of this research were : 1) to examine the differences of productivity and digestibility between polyploid and diploid grasses on N fertilization in saline soil, 2) to examine the differences of the productivity and digestibility forage to N fertilizer on polyploid grass beetwen Brachiaria brizantha and Panicum muticum grass. This experiment was conducted from January to May 2003 at the greenhouse, Laboratory of Forage Crop Science, Department of Nutrition and Feed Science, Faculty of Animal Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Materials used in this research are : polyploid and dyploid Panicum muticum and Brachiaria brizantha, urea fertilizer, NaCI. This research has been done with the factorial design 4 x 4 with 3 replication. Factor I is : N fertilizing dose consists of 4 levels (PO = 0 kg/N/ha/th, PI = 100 kg N/ha/th, P2 = 200 kg N/ha/th, P3 = 300 kg N/halth). Factor II : kinds of grass 4 kinds (R1= Brachiaria brizantha polyploid, R2 = Brachiaria brizantha diploid, R3 = Panicum muticum polyploid, R4 = Panic= muticum dyploid). The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyse the collected data. The mean differences among treatments were determined by using the Duncan't Mulriple Range Test and regression analyse. The results of the experiment showed that there was no interactive effect of added N fertilizer and kind of grass (P x R) on the DM and CP production, and the OM digestibility, but P x R treatment significantly influenced (P < 0.01) the DM digestibility. The N fertilization significantly affected (P < 0.01) the DM and CP production, and the DM and OM digestibility. Whereas, the kind of grass significantly (P < 0.01) influenced the CP production, DM and OM digestibility, the DM production was not significantly (P > 0.05). The productivity and digestibility of polyploid forage grass of both P.muticum and B.brizantha were higher than that of both diploid P.muticum and B.brizantha. Digestibility of polyploid P.muticum was higher than that of the polyploid B.brizantha, but the productivity between the-two was not different. Based on the regression similarity, the DM and CP prodction, and the DM and OM digestibility of all grasses increased as the addition of N fertilizer increased, with the peak performance was reached at the highest doses of N (P3 = 300 kg/ha/year). Tujuan penelitian adalah 1) untuk mengkaji perbedaan produktivitas dan kecernaan hijauan pakan terhadap pemupukan N diantara rumput poliploid dan diploid pada tanah satin, 2) untuk mengkaji perbedaan produktivitas dan kecernaan hijauan pakan terhadap pemupukan N pada rumput poliploid yaitu diantara rumput Brachiaria brizantha dan .Panicum muticum. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari - Mei 2003 di rumah kaca laboratorium Ilmu Tanaman Makanan Ternak Jurusan Nutrisi dan laboratorium Ilmu Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Diponegoro. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah : 48 pot yang diisi campuran 10 kg tanah dan pupuk kandang untuk media tanam, pupuk urea, NaCI. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan percobaan faktorial 4 x 4 dengan RAL 3 ulangan. Faktor I adalah : dosis pemupukan nitrogen yang terdiri dari 4 level (PO = 0 kg N/ha/th; P1 = 100 kg N/ha/th; P2 = 200 kg N/ha/th dan P3 = 300 kg N/ha/th). Faktor II : jenis rumput (R) sebanyak 4 jenis (R1 = Brachiaria brizantha poliploid; R2 = Brachiaria brizantha diploid; R3 = Panicum muticum poliploid; R4 = Panicum muticum diploid ). Parameter yang diamati meliputi : produksi BK, produksi PK, KeBK dan KcBO. Data yang diperoleh diolah secara statistik dengan analisis ragam dilanjutkan uji jarak berganda Duncan't dan analisis regresi pada masing-masing jenis rumput Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara pemupukan nitrogen dan jenis rumput terhadap produksi BK, produksi PK dan KcBO, tetapi terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang nyata terhadap KcBK. Pemupukan nitrogen berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap produksi BK dan PK serta KcBK dan KeBO. Jenis rumput berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap produksi PK, KcBK dan KeBO, tetapi tidak nyata terhadap produksi BK. Produktivitas dan kecernaan hijauan rumput poliploid lebih tinggi dibandingkan diploidnya, baik pada rumput Panicum muticum maupun Brachiaria brizantha. Kecernaan hijauan rumput Panicum muticum poliploid lebih tinggi dibanding dengan Brachiaria brizantha poliploid, tetapi produktivitas hijauannya tidak berbeda. Berdasarkan persamaan regresi semakin tinggi taraf pemupukan nitrogen pada keempat jenis rumput, produksi BK, produksi PK, KcBK dan Ke130 sernakin meningkat sampai dosis tertinggi sebesar 300 kg N/ha/th.
