Abstract

Background Many diseases have been listed as causes of acute abdominal pain. In all age groups, incidens of acute appendicitis was 75% in cases of acute abdominal pain. But the incidens of negative apendectomi have been listed 18 - 42%, especially in child bearing period women had 45 - 50%.. Problem The picture of appendicitis may not be classical. Does any combined of the clinical and laboratory findings could be accurately and precisely diffbrentiated the case of the right lower abdominal pain to build up diagnosis acute appendicitis, or doubtfUl case, or not appendicitis? Material and methods This report for prospective cross sectional study. We listed seventeen items that routinely recorded and thought to be useful as potential predictive factors in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. And than for build up the scoring system by using Bayesian probabilities. Result The nine potential predictive items have been listed for diagnosing acute appendicitis, there were history of fever and anorexia, and physical examination were cough sign, fever, rebound tenderness, rovsing sign and psoas sign, and laboratories finding were leucocytosis and netrofilia (shift to the left). The range of the scoring system between +10 to -7, in meaning that the score above + 10 those are acute appendicitis, and the score below -7 those are not appendicitis, and the doubtful case in score range between +10 to -7.
