Abstract
ABSTRAK MAULANA HAMONANGAN NASOETION. H 4A 099 007. 2001. Pengaruh Pemberian Kelenjar Tiroid Sapi Pasca Pembatasan Pakan Terhadap Penampilan dan Penggunaan Protein Ayam Broiler (Pembimbing: VITUS DWI YUNIANTO BUDI ISMADI dan UMIYATI ATMOMARSONO). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji respon broiler terhadap pembatasan pakan dini dan pemberian kelenjar tiroid kering (KTK) sapi dalam ransum pasca pembatasan pakan. Penelitian dilaksanakan path tanggal 20 Juli sampai 8 September 2000. Materi yang digunakan DOC broiler strain Logmann betina sebanyak 189 elcor Ransum yang digunakan umur 1-28 hari adalah ransum starter (protein kasar 23% dan energi metabolis 3000 kkal/kg), sedangkan pada umur 29-49 hari diberikan ransum finisher (protein kasar 20% dan energi metabolis 3000 kkal/kg). Alas lcandang dengan litter. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan pola split plot. Petak utama adalah pembatasan pakan, yaitu: RO, R I, R2 masing-masing ad libitum, pembatasan pakan 85% pada umur 8-14 had, dan pembatasan pakan 70% pada tanur 8-14 hari. Anak petak adalah pemberian KTK, yaitu: TO, TI, dan T2 masing-masing 0%, 0.075% dan 0.150% ransum. Pemberian KTK umur 15-28 hari. Prosesing dilakukan pada umur 28 dan 49 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembatasan pakan akan meningkatkan (P<0.05) efisiensi pakan dan rasio efisiensi protein (REP), namun menurunkan (P<0.05) konsumsi protein dan pertambahan bobot badan (PBB). Seminggu pertama pemberian KTK sapi dalam ransum broiler pasca pembatasan pakan maupun pakan ad libitum akan meningkatkan (P<0.05) PBR, efisiensi pakan, energi metabolis, penggunaan protein netto dan REP. Lemak abdominal menurun (P<0.05) setelah pemberian KTK sapi dalam ransum broiler pada umur 28 dan 49 hari. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah seminggu setelah pemberian 0.075-0.150% KTK sapi dalam ransum broiler meningkatkan penampilan dan penggunaan protein, serta menurunkan lemak tubuh broiler dengan pemberian pakan ad libitum maupun pasca pembatasan pakan 85% dan 70%. Pemberian KTK sapi dalam ransum pada minggu kedua tidak mempengaruhi PBB, efisiensi pakan, dan REP. The Effects of "Cattle's Thyroid Gland Meal Containing Diet" Fed Post-Restriction Programs to Broiler's Performance and Protein Utility (Thesis Supervisors: VITUS DWI YUNIANTO BUDI ISMADI and UMIYATI ATMOMARSONO). The research was conducted to evaluate the responses of broiler to "cattle's thyroid-gland meal containing diet" fed post-restriction programs. The research was conducted from July 20th to September 8 2001. The experiment used day old chick broilers female stain Logmann. The starter and finisher diets were calculated 23% crude protein, 3,000 kcal/kg metabolizable energy and 20% crude protein, 3,000 kcal/kg metabolizable energy respectively. The starter diet was fed from 1 to 28 day old age (DOA) and the finisher from 29 to 49 DOA. Split plot design with three blocks was used to arrange this experiment. The main-plot was feed restriction programs i.e. RO = ad libitum-fed, R1 = 85% feed restriction and R2 = 70% feed restriction. Feed restriction programs were carried out from 8 to 14 DOA. The sub-plot was cattle's thyroid-gland meal levels in the diets i.e.TO = 0%, T2 = 0.075%, and T3 = 0.150% were given from 15 to 28 DOA. Broiler's processing did on 28 and 49 DOA. The experiment result showed that feed restriction increased (P<0.05) feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio (PER), but decreased (Ps0.05) protein intake and body weight gain (BW gain). Thefirst week (15-21 DOA) "cattle's thyroid-gland meal containing diet" fed post-restriction programs or ad libitum-fed increased (P<0.05) BW gain, feed efficiency, metabolizable energy, nett protein utility (NPU) and PER. Abdominal fat weigth on 28 and 49 DOA decreased (P<0.05) by "cattle's thyroid-gland meal containing diet" fed post-restriction programs or ad libitum-fed. It can be concluded that the first week (15-21 DOA) "cattle's thyroid-gland meal containing diet" fed post-restriction programs or ad libitum-fed increased broiler's performance and protein utility, but decreased abdominal fat weight. The second week (22-28 DOA) "cattle's thyroid-gland meal containing diet" fed post-restriction programs or ad libitum-fed did not influence to broiler's BW gain, feed efficiency and PER.
