Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out how far the influnce of turmeric powder in the ration as the effort to reduce of abdominal fat, cholesterol and also to look for the optimal degree of turmeric in the ration. This research involved 200 male broilers DOC with the preliminary research for one week where the treatments were performed from age of 7 days with initial weights of 108.09 ± 9.79 g. The applied ration was composed on the basis of isoprotein and isoenergy. Scheme of the research applied to Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 repeats, and each unit of experiments consists of 10 broilers. The treatment was level of turmeric composed ,0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 %, respectively, and each was given notations : TO, T1, T2, T3 and T4, respectively. Data carried out on ages of 49 days including : abdominal fat, blood cholesterol content, bosom cholesterol content, and thigh cholesterol content. The results showed that the allotment of ration with lithe degree of turmeric usage at 8% (T4) on the age of 49 days apparently reduced the abdominal fat for TO, T1, T2, T3, and T4 were 2.53 g; 1.90 g; 2.09g; 1.93 g; and 11(67 g, respectively. The blood cholesterol to degree of the use of turmeric of 4% (T2) Was reduced but higher than the degree and the blood cholesterol was increasing on TO, T1, T2, T3, and T4 were respectively : 121.75; 88; 82; 105.50 and 97 (mg/d1).1che bosom cholesterol was reduced degree of the use of turmeric of 4%, the bosorri cholesterol of TO, T1, T2, T3, and T4 were respectively 46.30; 34.42; 24.26; 58.21 and 41.97 (mg/100 g). The thigh cholesterol until the use of turmeric usage of 4% Was reduced on TO, T1, T2, T3, and T4 were 31.58; 19.77; 19.62; 22.25; and 26.21 (n4100 g) respectively. Concentration of the optimum turmeric was gained on ;interval of treatment of 2.70 % in which the estimation of the average blood cholesterol was 82.28 mg/di on the treatment. Result of the research summaried that the usage f:H f increasing turmeric apparently reduced the abdominal fat, but the usage of turmeric > 4% not reduce of the blood cholesterol content, bosom cholesterol content and thigh cholesterol content Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh tepung kunyit dalam ransum sebagai upaya menurunkan lemak abdominal dan kadar kolesterol serta mencari taraf optimal kunyit dalam ransum. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 ekor ayam broiler jantan DOC dengan penelitian pendahuluan I minggu, perlakuan dilakukan mulai umur 7 hari dengan bobot awal 108,09 ± 9,79 g. Ransum yang digunakan disusun berdasarkan isoprotein dan isoenergi. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan clan 4 ulangan, tiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 10 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan tersebut adalah taraf penggunhan kunyit yaitu 0, 2, 4, 6 dan 8 % yang masing-masing diberi notasi TO, Tl, T2,,, T3 dan T4. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada umur 49 hari meliputi . lemak abdominal, kadar kolesterol darah, kadar kolesterol daging dada, kadar kolesterol daging palm. Basil penelitian menunjukkan lbahwa pemberian ransum dengan taraf penggunaan kunyit 8 % ( T4) pada umur 49 hari nyata menurunkan lemak abdominal TO, T1, T2, T3, T4 masing-masing 2,53 g; 1,90 g; 2,09 g; 1,93 g dan 1,67 g. Kolesterol darah sampai taraf penggunaan kunyit 4% ( T2 ) menurun tetapi lebih tinggi dari taraf tersebut mengalami peningkatan, kolesterol darah TO, Tl, T2, T3, dan T4 masing-masing 121,75; 88; 82; 105,50 dan 97 (mg/di). Kolesterol daging dada mengalami penurunan sampai taraf penggunaan kunyit 4%, kolesterol daging dada TO, Tl, T2, T3, dan T4 masing-masing 46,30; 34,42; 24,16; 58,21 dan 41,97 (mg/l00 g). Kolesterol daging paha sampai taraf penggunaan kunyit 4 % mengalami penurunan, kolesterol daging paha TO, T1, T2, T3, dan T4 masing-masing 31,58; 19,77; 19,62; 22,25 dan 26,21 (mg/100 g). Konsentrasi kunyit optimum diperoleb pada interval perlakuan 2.70 % ciimana pada perlakuan tersebut perhitungan kolesterol darah rata-rata adalah 82,28 mgAll. Dari basil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kunyit yang semakin meningkat dapat menurunkan kandungan lemak abdominal, tetapi penggunaan kunyit > 4 % tidak menurunkan kadar kolesterol darah, daging dada dan daging paha.
