Abstract
Water availability in Central Java irrigation area is generally in limited condition and cannot cope with the need of water requirement, especially for irrigation system at Sentul area that is supplied from Embung Gayam weir. Farmers at the area spend too many water requirement based on the assumption that water reserve for that area still sufficient and abundance. At the current operation, that is every two weeks, water is abundance at plantation term I (MT I) but at plantation term II (MT II) there is a lack in water. The aim of this research is to study the most optimal pattern of water requirement to irrigation. The objectives are the average need water requirement at cultivation term I (MT II), cultivation term II (MT II) and cultivation term I +II between abserved dischange at the intake and simulated. The method in this research is using water-balancing technique using several water distribution techniques by utilizing a continuous water requirement technique, scheduled water requirement technique (every 5 days, 10 days, and 15 days), and 10 mm controlled water requirement technique with effective rain at the period between 1996/1997 until 2000/2001 for each plantation land from simulation model. According to research results it show that the most optimal water requirement method are the controlled one at 10 mm. For period 1996/1997 at 1700 ha plantation area the average intake debit observation results at average MT I: 421 It/dt and MT II: 335,6It/dt, while the optimum results from simulation (10 mm control) MT 1 86,7 lt/dt and MT II: 650,7 lt/dt. According to the above results, therefore, sluice operation should be adjusted by simulation result MT I: 86,7 It/dt that result in preserving 334,3 lt/dt and MT II: 650,7 lt/dt shows an insufficiency of more than 325,1 lt/dt due to the limited intake debit. Sluice operation study as the above mentioned is for half-month debit at MT I of 86,7 lt/dt and MT II of 650,7 lt/dt by half-month operations. The simulation water requirement is not needed at the need of water requirement is sufficed by effective rainfall. But according to the field observation's results it can be revealed that at the time of effective rainfall is sufficient, irrigation water reserve still supplied into the area. Therefore, sluice operation should be adjusted according to the optimum simulation results to preserve water requirement. Results from this research are only recommended for Sentul irrigation area that is supplied by Embung Gayam For other irrigation area there is a need to conduct a specific research that make use all data regarding the area of concern. Ketersediaan air pada daerah irigasi di Propinsi Jawa Tengah umumnya dalam kondisi yang terbatas dibanding kebutuhannya, khususnya daerah irigasi Sentul yang disuplai dari Embung Gayam. Para petani di daerah tersebut boros air dikarenakan beranggapan ketersediaan air yang banyak hasilnya juga banyak. Pada operasi yang berlaku sekarang setiap 2 mingguan, pada MT I air berlebihan, sedangkan pada MT II kekurangan air. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji pola operasi pemberian air irigasi yang optimal dengan sasaran kebutuhan air irigasi rata-rata masa tanam (MT) I, masa tanam (MT) II dan masa tanam (MT) I + masa tanam (MT) II antara pengamatan debit di intake dengan model simulasi. Metode penelitian menggunakan teknik imbangan air dari beberapa teknik pemberian air yaitu teknik pemberian air secara kontinyu, teknik pemberian air secara terjadwal yaitu 5 hari, 10 hari dan 15 hari, dan teknik pemberian air secara terkontrol 10 mm dengan memanfaatkan hujan efektif tahun data 1996/1997 sampai dengan 2000/2001dipetak sawah dengan model simulasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa teknik pemberian air yang optimal adalah teknik pemberian air secara terkontrol 10 mm. Untuk tahun 1996/1997 dengan .luas areal 1700 Ha menunjukkan basil pengamatan debit di intake rata-rata MT' I : 421 lt/dt dan MT II : 335,6 It/dt, sedangkan dari basil simulasi yang optimal (terkontrol 10 mm) MT I : 86,7 lt/dt, MT II : 650,7 It/dt. Berdasarkan basil tersebut di atas maka pengoperasian pintu di intake disesuaikan dengan hasil simulasi MT I : 86,7 lt/dt terdapat penghematan : 334,3 lt/dt dan MT II : 650,7 It/dt terdapat kekurangan : 325,1 lt/dt kareria keterbatasan debit di intake. Kajian operasional pintu optimal seperti tersebut di atas dengan debit setengah bulanan MT I : 86,7 It/dt dan MT II : 650,7 lt/dt dengan pengoperasian pintu setengah bulanan, pada simulasi tidak membutuhkan air karena kebutuhan air cukup dari hujan efektif Namun pada pengamatan operasional pintu di intake pada bulan-bulan banyak twin hujan masih diberi air yang cukup tinggi, untuk itu pengaturan pintu di intake diatur disesuaikan dengan basil simulasi optimal, untuk menghemat air. Basil penelitian ini direkomendasikan di daerah irigasi sampel yaitu di daerah irigasi Sentul yang disuplai dari Embung Gayam. Untuk daerah irigasi lain perlu diadakan penelitian sesuai dengan data daerah irigasi yang bersangkutan.
