Abstract
Padang city as a district city of West Sumatera Province also functions as place of all urban activities. One of impacts of this condition is increasing of vehicle density at some access road to Padang city. This view also can be seen at every intersection. This research is carried out to analyzing how far the transportation contribution in those access roads on air polution impact such as increasing on the ambient air especially to carbonmonoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter concentration. The research method is Gaussian model which describe the relationship between some factors such as meteorological condition, traffic volume, and CO, NOx and Particulate Mater content in ambient air. The locations of this research were conducted in 2 (two) intersection at Padang city, those are intersection of Bagindo Aziz Chan and intersection of Lubuk Begalung. The primary data measured taken on March 2004. The result shows that model of the vehicle queue on the intersection road has correlation with the accumulation of carbon monoxide polutant, nitrogen oxide and PMI° on the both study area with the correlation mark is about 0.7043 — 0.7776. The changing phase of traffic light really influences the amount of the vehicle queue and decrease of air quality. Based on the research result either validation by using the gaussian model or by using statistic methode, on the intersection show that the result is can explain the strong of correlation between the increase of emission vehicle of queue effect in intersection with the increasing of polutant in ambient air. Therefor, Gaussian model can be applicated for moving emission sources (transportation) at intersection, particularly is Padang city. Kota Padang sebagai pusat Pemerintahan Propinsi Sumatera Barat juga berfungsi sebagai tempat semua aktifitas perkotaan. Salah satu dampak dari hal ini adalah meningkatnya volume kendaraan pada jam-jam tertentu di ruas-ruas jalan kota Padang. Pemandangan ini tampak pula di setiap persimpangan jalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kejadian antrian kendaraan bermotor di persimpangan terhadap kandungan zat pencemar di udara ambien terutama karbonmonoksida, Nitrogen Oksida dan Partikulat (rnio Metode penelitian adalah mempergunakan model Gaussian yaitu dengan menggambarkan keterkaitan antara faktor kepadatan lalu lintas khususnya di persimpangan, kondisi meteorologis serta kandungan CO, NOx dan PIVII°. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di dua persimpangan akses ke kota Padang yaitu persimpangan Bagindo Aziz Chan dan persimpangan Lubuk Begalung. Pada persimpangan Bagindo Aziz Chan dan persimpangan Lubuk Begalung pengukuran data primer dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2004. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pola kejadian antrian kendaraan dipersirnpangan jalan berkaitan erat dengan besamya akumulasi polutan karbon monoksida, oksida nitrogen dan PM1° di wilayah studi dengan nilai korelasi antara 0.7043 — 0.7776. Phase pergantian lampu lalu lintas sangat mempengaruhi jumlah kendaraan yang antri dan keterkaitan juga dengan penurunan kualitas udara. Berdasarkan basil pengujian baik dengan validasi menggunakan model Gaussian maupun pengujian dengan metode statistik, di dua persimpangan jalan menunjukkan bahwa basil yang dicapai cukup baik dan dapat menjelaskan besarnya kaitan antara pertambahan kendaraan bermotor yang antri di persimpangan dengan pertambahan polutan di udara ambien. Seltingga model Gaussian dapat diterapkan pada sumber emisi bergerak (transportasi) untuk daerah persimpangan khususnya di kota Padang.
