In making an effort to meet the need of houses for the people in the cities, the Government with the developer of Perumnas / Real Estate Indonesia try not only to provide a proper housing but also a healthy and pleasant human habitation. It is the role as a provider that the housing residence developed by the mass housing developer, in the long run, can come forward as a enabler for the growth of housing by the masses. On the other side, a house as a human basic need has a different meaning; it depends on the perception of the individual in placing a house as the part of individual life and his family. Further, in deciding where the house will be built, it will face a problem of how he looks at the meaning of a house and how appreciates the environment in which he lives. Those two interesting phenomena has stimulated us the examiner to study ' Some factors that influence the growth of housing ', by taking as a case study the location around the residence built by the developer of Perumnas in Semarang as a generating of growth. To approach the problem we apply two manners; the first approach is from the side of the inhabitant who live there as the actor of the living activities and the second approach is from the side of the space where the activities take place. By identifying the inhabitant we need to know the ability to build, while from the spatial point of view we want to know the effectivity of the spatial component performance that can be utilizet to meet the life demand. By realizing the inhabitant's ability to build and the usefulness of the space we can also see the interest to inhabit the environment as an expression of the inhabitant's behaviour in response to both indicators mentioned above. To process the data, this study applies a Multivariate Statistical Analysis Methods based on Factor Analysis to expose the influencial dominant factor as the resume of this study. The resume of the study says that 'family financial incoms' symbolizes the ability to build, while the interest to inhabit is indicated by 'inhabit demand' and 'inhabit expression'. Finally, to get a spatial usefulness, the dominant factor is 'the accessibility to socio economic facilities' benefit and 'the physical performance of the environment'.
