Abstract

The research of waste water of ammonia that is treated by CO2 bubles has been conducted in the fertilizer plant of PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Tbk, Bontang municipality, East of Kalimantan. The aim of the study is to determine the optimum condition of CO2 bubbling to gain the equalibrium between the need of CO2 and the need of neutralization reaction. Method use is the CO2 bubling optimization in Chemical Pond and bubling comparation method using poreous stone and poreous plastic pipe. The results of the study show that ammonia waste water treatment in the Chemical Pond using CO2 bubling can reduce the concentration of free ammonia that is transformed to bocarbonate ammonium which is not harmful to the aquatic living organisms. Keywords : Ammonia wastewater treatment, neutralization free ammonia The research of waste water of ammonia that is treated by CO2 bubles has been conducted in the fertilizer plant of PT.
