Abstract
Asphalt is a small component in the flexible pavement As a binder, it is commonly needed 4 % - 10 % of total mixtures of the mix design. In the mixed design have to consider the technical aspect and another aspects including to obtain material easly on the site. There for, it is necessary to study the alternative material (asphalt) when asphalt not ready in the market any time. This study to compare both the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products with the asphalt Esso Pen 60/70 products base on the Bina Marga specifications. In order to have the best result, it is nacessary to study in the laboratory to know Marshall characteristic and Structural Values (modulus elasticity and material strengthening coefficiens) on both of the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products with the asphalt Esso Pen 60 / 70 products on the asphalt optimum content. By using the VIM as a Marshall convensional 6 % find the asphalt optimum content value, based on it t 0,5 % the VIM—PRD value on the 2 x 400 blow was determined From the individual test result as well as in the mixed result show that the stability value of the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products ( 906 kg) is lower than the stability value of the asphalt Esso Pen 60/70 products ( 989 kg ). Beside that, the Voids in Mix (VIM) as well as the PRD value indicate that the result for the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products is lower than the VIM value of the asphalt Esso Pen 60/70 products. Which caused impervious layer and the air can not filled in the mixing to result in oksidation and to be demage the asphalts. The result study show that Viods in Mineral Aggregate (VM4) Marshall value of the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products is lower than the VM4 value of the asphalt Esso Pen 60/70 products, but for the PRD value is invertion result The Voids in Filled With Bitumen (VFB) Marshall as well as PRD value show that the asphalt Pertamina Pen 60/70 products bigger than the VFB value of the asphalt Esso Pen 60/70 products. The result study concerning the characteristics of both asphalt trade fulfill the requirement of Bina Marga specifications. Aspal merupakan salah satu komponen kecil dalam konstruksi lapis lentur. Sebagai bahan ikat agregat, umumnya diperlukan kadar campuran 4 % - 10 % tergantung dari rencana. Perencanaan campuran perlu mempertimbangkan aspek teknis serta aspek lainnya termasuk kemudahan untuk mendapatkan material di lapangan. Oleh karena itu perlu suatu penelitian untuk mencari alternatip apabila terjadi kelangkaan stok material khususnya aspal. Penelitian ini membandingkan aspal keras produksi Pertamina dengan produksi Esso dengan standart Bina Marga. Untuk mendapatkan hasil yang terbaik dilakukan penelitian secara laboratorium dengan mengetahui sifat Marshall dan Nilai Struktural (modulus kekakuan dan koefisien kekuatan relatip bahan) terhadap aspal keras Pertamina Pen 60/70 dan Aspal Keras Esso Pen 60/70 pada campuran beton aspal pada kondisi kadar aspal optimum. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mendasarkan nilai VIM Marshall secara konvensional 6 % didapat nilai kadar aspal, nilai kadar aspal tersebut f 0,5 % dilakukan tumbukan 2 x 400 ditentukan nilai VIM PRD. Hasil penelitian individual maupun campuran menunjukkan bahwa dari nilai stabilitas aspal keras jenis Pertamina Pen 60/70 ( 906 kg ) relatip lebih kecil dari pada nilai stabilitas aspal keras Esso Pen 60/70 ( 989 kg ). Dari sisi lain, rongga dalam campuran (VD/I) Marshall maupun PRD menunjukkan bahwa Aspal keras Pertamina Pen 60/70 relatip lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan VIM aspal keras Esso Pen 60/70 mengakibatkan udara tidak masuk kedalam campuran yang menyebabkan terjadinya oksidasi dan aspal menjadi rapuh. Rongga antar butir (VMA) Marshall menunjukkan bahwa aspal keras Pertamina Pen 60/70 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan VMA aspal keras Esso Pen 60/70, sedangkan pada PRD terjadi kebalikannya. Rongga terisi aspal (VFB) Marshall maupun PRD menunjukkan bahwa Aspal keras Pertamina Pen 60/70 relatip lebih besar dibandingkan dengan VFB aspal keras Esso Pen 60/70. Hasil pengujian dengan beberapa karakteristik kedua jenis aspal memenuhi persyaratan Bina Marga.
